far cry 4 stopped working windows 8

I'm having a few problems with the game, but as a result I cannot get past the beginning of the game. First the game opens in windowed mode but is off center, once I click to continue it enters fullscreen. Although sometimes it will stop responding in windowed mode on startup. Then after just a few minutes of gameplay my game freezes, goes to a blackscreen, enters windowed mode off centered ... download icon pack windows 8
